Behavioral Consultations

Personalized, force-free guidance designed to strengthen the partnership between you and your dog. Behavioral Consultations provide clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward—no matter where you’re starting.

  • Behavioral Consultations are one-on-one, virtual sessions tailored to your dog’s unique needs, your lifestyle, and your goals as a handler. Using a detailed behavior questionnaire and a live video call, we work together to understand your dog’s behavior and build a realistic, humane plan to help your dog thrive.

These sessions are ideal for dog–handler teams who want individualized support, flexibility, and a deeper understanding of their dog.

    • Reactivity (barking, lunging, over-arousal)

    • Fearful or anxious behaviors

    • Resource guarding

    • Separation-related behaviors

    • Puppy problem-solving (biting, jumping, stealing)

    • Handling and grooming sensitivities

    • Multi-dog household dynamics

    • Enrichment planning and lifestyle balance

    • General behavior questions and goal-setting

  • 1. Intake Questionnaire

After booking, you’ll complete a detailed questionnaire covering your dog’s history, routine, challenges, and goals. This allows us to come into your session prepared and focused on what matters most to you.

    2. Live Video Consultation

We’ll meet virtually for a 60–90 minute session to:

    • Clarify goals and expectations

    • Discuss behavior patterns and underlying needs

    • Teach management and training strategies

    • Collaboratively build a step-by-step plan

    3. Personalized Action Plan

Following your session, you’ll receive a written plan outlining:

    • Immediate management strategies

    • Training exercises and progression steps

    • Enrichment recommendations

    • Suggested next steps (private lessons, group classes, or ongoing support)

    4. Follow-Up Support

Depending on your selected package, follow-up support may include email support, check-in calls, and plan adjustments.

  • Behavioral Consultations are a great fit if you:

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. Consultations are great for behavior challenges and for handlers who want guidance, enrichment ideas, or help setting realistic training goals.

  • Behavioral Consultations can stand alone or serve as a starting point. Many clients use them to determine whether private lessons, group classes like Howdy Hounds, or Wrecking Chew Fitness would be a good fit.

  • Safety is our top priority. Some cases may require additional support or referral to a veterinary behaviorist. If a case is outside our scope, we’ll help guide you toward appropriate resources.

  • A stable internet connection, a quiet space, treats or toys, and any previously recorded behavior videos you’d like to share. Live demonstrations are never required.

  • All guidance is force-free, reward-based, and rooted in building trust, communication, and partnership.
