Wrecking Chew

Drop in Canine Fitness and Conditioning

A fun, functional workout for dogs and their people. Wrecking Chew is a rotating, station based class focused on strength, balance, mobility, and confidence. With no long term commitment required, you don't have to worry about making it to a class at the same time every week and instead can focus on you and your dog having fun and getting fit together!

  • Wrecking Chew is a drop in style dog fitness class designed to help dogs move better, feel stronger, and build body awareness in a low pressure, supportive environment. Each class features a circuit of fitness stations that you and your pup work through together at your own pace.

Every week looks a little different, but the goal stays the same: happy, healthy movement.

    • Dogs of all ages (puppies with basic leash skills through seniors)

    • Dogs who enjoy learning through food, play, or exploration

    • Owners who want enrichment beyond obedience

    • Dogs who need confidence building or structured physical outlets

Exercises are always scalable. No jumping, speed work, or forced repetitions.

    • No multi‑week commitment required

    • Attend when it fits your schedule

    • Each class stands alone while still building long‑term fitness

    • Dogs rotate through stations focused on:

      • Strength

      • Balance & stability

      • Mobility & flexibility

      • Proprioception & confidence

You’ll never be behind if you miss a week — just show up and have fun.

  • Welcome & Warm‑Up
Each class begins with a structured walking warm-up to gently wake up muscles and joints while helping dogs acclimate to the environment. This may include slow leash walking, changes of pace, turns, brief pauses, and focus moments to build connection before moving into fitness work.

Walking-based warm-ups are low-impact, accessible for all dogs, and set the tone for thoughtful, intentional movement throughout class.

    Fitness Stations
4–6 rotating stations using equipment like:

    • Tunnels

    • Cots and platforms

    • Pool noodle cavalettis

    • Balance equipment

    • Proprioception challenges

Handlers work at their own pace with coaching and options for progression or simplification.

    Cooldown & Decompression
Sniffing, stretching, and calming exercises to help dogs leave relaxed and successful.

  • Dog fitness isn’t about making dogs tired — it’s about helping them:

    • Build strength safely

    • Improve coordination and body awareness

    • Reduce injury risk

    • Gain confidence in how their bodies move

    • Strengthen their relationship with their handler

Wrecking Chew blends enrichment and conditioning in a way that feels like play.

    • Drop‑in friendly and flexible

    • Station‑based so dogs can work at their own comfort level

    • Emphasis on connection over control

    • Small wins celebrated every class

    • Real‑world, functional movement (not flashy tricks)

This is fitness you can feel good about.

    • A well‑fitting harness or flat collar

    • A standard 6‑foot leash

    • High‑value treat and a favorite toy

    • Water for your dog

  • Yes. All exercises are scalable and coached in real time. Dogs and handlers can work at their own pace, and there is no expectation of prior fitness or training experience.

  • Breaks are always welcome and encouraged. Fitness progress comes from quality movement, not pushing through fatigue. There are also cool down stations included each week in case you and your dog still want something to focus on while taking a break from moving.

  • Possibly. Because this is a station‑based class, dogs can work at a comfortable distance from others. If you’re unsure whether Wrecking Chew is a good fit, feel free to reach out before attending. If your goal is working through reactivity or helping your dog gain confidence, we can work with you to develop a plan personalized to your pup.
